Ammonia emissions from animal farms, natural processes and industries cause the formation of acid rain and the development of aerosols. In high concentrations they give off very unpleasant odours.
In order to improve ambient air quality for humans and the environment, these emissions must be reduced and controlled. Analysis of ammonia emission concentrations is necessary to define the sources of ammonia and to monitor the effects of reduction methods.
